Weekends with the Haywards - childhood memories

Created by Rebecca 3 years ago

Jill was quite simply one of the loveliest people I’ve ever known or expect I ever will.

I have such wonderful memories of her - as an amazing parent, always so interested in what we were all into as kids; such great fun with a huge, warm smile and a sparkle in her eye; so supportive and open minded, and friends with everyone she met; and so hospitable on the numerous fantastic weekends we spent with the Haywards.

Some of the things I’ve most enjoyed remembering are Jill belting out songs in the car (‘keep your eyes on the road’), enthusiastically hanging on every word of our plays (I’m sure they were first class ...); covertly helping us when she caught us making midnight feasts; loving our trip to the theatre (Miss Saigon) and for Chinese meals; and more recently making friends with everyone, young and old, during a fantastic weekend in Prague for my brother James’s wedding (‘best friends forever’) where we loved hanging out with Jill and Gerry.

Too many happy memories to list. Jill was much loved and will be dearly missed.
